One of the most difficult hair types to add visible texture to is short hair that is fine and blonde. Many times when you texturize fine hair the end result doesn't show texture it just looks more and more diffused.

In this video, Sam Villa Education Director Andrew Carruthers demonstrates an excellent X Pattern fine hair texturizing technique that you can use to create really defined texture.

Recommended Professional Tools for this Technique:

Professional 5.5" Swivel Shear (You'll see why when you watch the video. This shear will place your hand and wrist in a comfortable cutting position at all times)

To finish the hair, we recommend misting the hair first with Redken fashion waves 07 - a sea salt texturizing spray, to add more texture to the hair. Then use your Sam Villa Professional Ionic Blow Dryer (with the nozzle on so you don't create fly aways) to dry the hair and create your silhouette –
